Sermon Illustration Library

Filed under: Ministry, Other, Web Development — Scott Severance at 12:29 am on Tuesday, February 28, 2006

I’m announcing a new website that I’ve made. The Sermon Illustration Library (RSS Feed) is a community-driven illustration source. This means that the more people participate, the better it will become. Of course, it is completely free.

Here are some of the distinctive features of the library:

  1. Labels. In other illustration references that I’ve seen, illustrations are only assigned to a single topic–or a couple–even though they might apply to many different topics. In this system, each illustration can have as many labels as appropriate, and any registered user can add or remove labels as appropriate. This means that with enough participation, each illustration will be labeled in the best way possible.
  2. Community-driven. In addition to the community features of the label system, anyone can add illustrations, thus maximizing the potential of finding a good illustration when you need it.
  3. Free. You can’t beat the price!

Since this website is only a few days old, there aren’t very many illustrations. But, please poke around and see what’s available. And, if you have a good illustration, join the fun and add it!
